The MS-160 4x/10x/40x/100x Professional Microscope from Carson is a four-objective optic with interchangeable 10x and 16x binocular eyepieces, providing observers with multiple magnification settings for viewing their specimen. Binocular viewing capability provides enhanced depth of field compared to monocular designs. This microscope is a useful instrument for hobbyists and students alike; using the 16x eyepiece, the MS-160 is capable of 64x, 160x, 640x, and 1600x magnification. The broad magnification range equips this stereo microscope for viewing almost any type of specimen. The 130x145mm stage is illuminated from below using the microscope's LED light source. Providing even more control over specimen illumination is the MS-160 microscope's 1.25 Abbe condenser with iris diaphragm and filter.

This is an amazing microscope and I would recommend it to everybody. It is a “heavy duty” one so you do not need to worry about it breaking. My 7 and 8 year old played with it all day after some instructions how to use it. Unless this microscope gets dropped on the floor, there really is nothing that they could break. I am extremely impressed with the quality of the lenses and how easy it is to operate it. The detail you see even at the lowest setting is amazing.

I am very satisfied with this microscope. It is built to last, that is for sure. I bought it as a secondary microscope while doing some biological research and it has quickly become my favorite unit. My kids love to use it, they bring me things all the time to look at under the microscope. Just the other day, my oldest had a bloody nose and wanted to see what blood looked like under the microscope, that was a real treat. Very pleased with the value overall, and the quality of design.

We bought a couple of these for our local cat rescue organization to use for identifying parasites. So far, we are happy with the quality of the scope. I’m a high school science teacher, so I’ve used a lot of scopes both in college and in the classroom. These feel very sturdy and are much nicer than the scopes our kids use at the high school.

Making a choice of microscope is to enter a very crowded space. I’m pleased I made this choice. Solid and reliable and so far does everything I want.
